Job Summary: 

Track market prices and purchase supplies for vendors to build on lots. Collaborate closely with team members to ensure communication between Trade Partners and Superintendents on sites. This position organizes and coordinates the home building process from planning construction in the office to building the developments onsite.

Qualifications:

  • Completed High School
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Purchasing and/or Accounting
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with experience in MS Excel and MS Outlook and internet-based programs such as Internet Explorer and Google Chrome
  • Has experience learning new software or programs
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Holt staff and Trade Partners
  • Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, using the English language
  • Have excellent attention to details
  • Able to manage time and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Ability to achieve goals within a stressful environment in a calm, rational, professional manor
  • Experience in residential construction preferred
  • Experience with software Sage, Builder MT, and Sales Simplicity preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain vendor packets and qualifications
  • Request pricing, load price changes in Builder MT software and maintain bids in “collected bid folders” in an organized, efficient method
  • Revise/update features lists and community standards
  • Update projects’ vendor lists
  • Price and distribute change orders
  • Coordinate all paperwork for vendors
  • Process purchase orders, change orders and notices to proceed in Builder MT and Sales Simplicity software.
  • Research invoice or purchase order issues as needed, resolve payment issues
  • Track new starts/ensure complete purchase orders’ releases prior to commencement of construction.
  • Manage and coordinate the process in maintaining Builder MT accounting issues related to contracts and/or trade partner qualifications
  • Assist in training and supporting Purchasing Administrative Staff
  • Work with Purchasing Manager on deadlines, completion of tasks and workload
  • Ensure adherence to department policies, procedures, and audit requirements

Work Environment:

  • Regularly uses a computer with repeated movements to enter data, differentiate between colors, shades and brightness, and read from a computer screen for extended periods of time
  • Regularly interacts with Trade Partners and other departments at Holt
  • Can work both remotely and in office upon approval from Purchasing Manager
